The bar has just enough grit to actually exfoliate, but it is so finely ground that it doesn't feel scratchy and dangerous to my fine, aging skin at all! The cedarwood smell is absolutely divine. It's a great soap for the men in your life or for the ladies (like me) who like the woodsy smells. I highly recommend this bar that thoroughly cleans the skin without leaving it feeling stripped and dry.
